French with Samantha

About me

I am a fully qualified, experienced French teacher with over 20 years experience in the classroom. Languages have been my lifelong passion and I want everyone to enjoy learning and using them as much as I do. I understand the challenges that students face when preparing for GCSE and A Level exams and developing self-belief and confidence is at the heart of my teaching practice. I draw on my corporate and teaching experience to make my lessons as fun, engaging and interactive as possible. Aside from achieving exam success, I also want my learners to take away practical communication skills that will support them in life, whether through work, travel or relationships. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my family and exploring different countries and cultures. I worked in Japan for two years as an EFL teacher and have travelled extensively in South America.

Teaching experience

I have over 20 years experience teaching French and Spanish to GCSE and A Level and have taught students from Year 2 to Year 13. I have taught to a range of exam boards including AQA and Edexcel GCSE, iGCSE and A Level. I have also been a moderator/examiner of GCSE French and Spanish speaking exams for over 12 years and this has given me an invaluable insight into the requirements of the speaking exam and how to best prepare students.
